- Merging a custom investment to a listed investment

- Managing prices using a CSV file
To create a custom investment, click the ‘Add or Import Holding’ button from the Overview tab:
From the ‘Add New Holding’ page, select the ‘Add a custom investment’ check box, and complete the other form fields as required.
If you have added a custom investment to your portfolio that is now listed you can merge it without losing any data. To do this please follow these steps:
- Click into the custom investment
- Scroll down and click on ‘Holding Settings’
- Click ‘Merge into listed security’
Once you have added the holding you can record dividends and trades against it just like any other holding in Sharesight. You will also need to update the share price in order to receive up to date performance information. The share price can be updated via the holding detail page, simply click ‘Enter a price’ in the right sidebar to update today’s share price, or click ‘Manage prices’ to view and maintain historical prices.
The manage prices page allows you to enter new prices and change existing prices (simply click on the prices to edit them). The manage prices page also allows you to import a CSV file containing share prices. This feature directly supports the historic price files that can be downloaded from the Google Finance or Yahoo Finance websites.
