Instructional video - tracking custom (other) investments
To create a custom investment, click the ‘Add or Import Holding’ button from the Overview tab:
From the ‘Add New Holding’ page, select the ‘Add a custom investment’ check box, and complete the other form fields as required.
Once you have added the holding you can record dividends and trades against it just like any other holding in Sharesight. You will also need to update the share price in order to receive up to date performance information. The share price can be updated via the holding detail page, click ‘Enter a price’ in the right sidebar to update today’s share price, or click ‘Manage prices’ to view and maintain historical prices.
Managing prices using a CSV file
The manage prices page allows you to enter new prices and change existing prices (simply click on the prices to edit them). The manage prices page also allows you to import a CSV file containing share prices. This feature directly supports the historic price files that can be downloaded from the Google Finance or Yahoo Finance websites.
