Sharesight's CMC Invest integration syncs your ongoing buy and sell trades automatically. Here's exactly what is and isn't supported — and what to do if something isn't coming through.

What Sharesight imports

✅ Equities — buy and sell trades only

✅ Last 12 months of trading history (when first connecting, if selected)

✅ Ongoing trades (synced within 24–48 hours of each trade)

What Sharesight does not import

❌ Forex trades

❌ Options trades

❌ Cash transactions

❌ Short selling, shorts, cover trades, or any derivatives

❌ Dividends (see below)

❌ Cash balance

❌ Cryptocurrency trades (see below)

Does CMC import dividends?

No — but you don't need it to. Sharesight automatically populates your dividend history based on your trade history. When you bought a stock, how many shares you hold, and the dividend records are all calculated automatically. There's nothing you need to do.

Will trades import if I set up the integration after the trade date?

When you first connect your CMC Invest account, you'll have the option to send your last 12 months of trading history to Sharesight. Trades older than 12 months won't be imported automatically — you'll need to add them manually or via file upload. See Importing CMC historical trades (older than 12 months).

Do you support trade confirmation emails?

Trade confirmation emails aren't required to sync your CMC Invest trades — the API integration handles this automatically. See Trade confirmation emails and CMC — do I need them?.

Can I link two or more CMC accounts to one Sharesight portfolio?

Yes — Sharesight supports linking multiple CMC Invest accounts. See Linking multiple CMC accounts to Sharesight.

How do I track my CMC cash balance in Sharesight?

The CMC Invest integration does not sync cash balances. To track your cash balance, create a cash account in Sharesight (available on paid plans), set an opening balance, and sync all future buys, sells, and dividends into the cash account.

Does the CMC integration import cryptocurrency trades?

No — the CMC Invest API currently does not push cryptocurrency trades to Sharesight. You have two options to track your crypto trades:

• Add them manually — add each crypto trade directly in Sharesight
• Forward trade confirmation emails — set up your CMC Invest account to forward trade confirmation emails to your Sharesight portfolio email address
