Reports (New Zealand)
Sharesight contains a number of powerful tax/compliance and performance reports that you can run against your investment portfolio.
Note: This page covers reports available to New Zealand tax residency portfolios. Some tax reports are only available on Standard, Premium and Sharesight Business plans.
The reports fall into three categories: performance reports, asset allocation reports and tax & compliance reports.

Asset Allocation Reports
Tax & Compliance Reports
Sharesight provides the following tax reports for New Zealand investors:

Taxable Income Report — lists all dividend and interest payments received within a selected period. Use this to prepare your income tax return.

Traders Tax Report — calculates taxable gains for investors classified as traders by the IRD (i.e. those who hold shares on revenue account). Only applicable if you are a share trader.

FIF Report — calculates Foreign Investment Fund (FIF) income tax for New Zealand investors who hold overseas shares above the NZ$50,000 threshold.

FIF Fair Dividend Rate (FDR) Report — calculates FIF income using the Fair Dividend Rate method, where tax is based on 5% of the opening market value of your overseas portfolio each year.

FIF Opening Balance Worksheet — details the value of each buy transaction used in the FIF opening balance figure. Useful for verifying FIF calculations when shares have been partially sold.

Historical Cost Report — shows opening and closing balances at cost price. Useful for investors who hold shares under a company or family trust and need to prepare annual accounts.

All Trades Report — a full record of all buy and sell trades recorded in your portfolio over a selected period.
