It details the value of each buy transaction in the opening balance figure. Because sales are deducted from buy transactions on a first in first out (FIFO) basis, some buy transactions may have been eliminated or partly eliminated by subsequent sell transactions and are therefore not shown or shown at a reduced quantity.
