How can we help?

If you signed up through a partner or affiliate link and saw a "4 months free" offer, this article explains exactly how that discount is calculated. It applies the same way on every paid plan — Basic, Standard, or Premium — and it doesn't stack on top of our everyday annual discount, which is where the confusion usually comes from.

The short answer

The 4-months-free offer is applied to a plan's monthly price, not to the price you'd already get after switching to an annual plan. It replaces our default 25% annual discount rather than adding to it — the two offers can't be combined, on any plan.

The formula, in plain terms

For whichever plan you're on:

Your first-year price with the affiliate offer = monthly rate × 8

That's it — you're charged for 8 months at the plan's normal monthly rate, and the other 4 months are free. It is not 8 months at the discounted annual rate.

Worked example (Standard plan)

We'll use the Standard plan as an illustrative example below — the exact same logic applies to Basic and Premium, just starting from their own monthly rate (see the full table further down).

Our pricing page shows two prices for Standard:

It's natural to assume "4 months free" means 4 free months on top of that $29/month annual rate — which would work out to roughly $232/year. That's not how the offer is calculated.

Instead, the affiliate offer takes the full monthly rate of $38.67 and only charges you for 8 of the 12 months:

$38.67 × 8 months = $309.36 for your first year

That $309.36 is what you'll actually be billed for a first year on an annual Standard plan via an eligible affiliate link — not $348, and not $232.

The same three-way comparison, for every current paid plan:

On every plan, the affiliate offer works out cheaper than our standard annual discount in the first year — it's just calculated from the original monthly rate, not from the already-discounted annual rate, so the saving looks smaller than "4 months off the annual price" would suggest.

Key things to know

• The offer applies to annual billing only, on Basic, Standard, and Premium — it's not available on monthly plans.

• It replaces, not stacks with, our automatic 25% annual discount. You'll get one or the other, whichever the affiliate link applies — never both.

• It can't be combined with any other offer, code, or promotion.

The calculation method is the same for every plan — only the monthly rate changes. Standard is used above purely as a worked example.

• After your first year, your subscription typically renews at our standard annual rate (the 25%-off price for your plan) unless a new eligible offer applies at renewal.
