Sharesight API Partners
Content also available for tax entities or on our global site. The Sharesight API allows you to exchange data with other partners within the Sharesight ecosystem.
An API connection will allow you to access the data in another application based on a set of requirements. For example, if you are trying to import trading data from a broker, the set of requirements will specify which data to be accessed i.e. market code, instrument code, transaction date, price, quantity and transaction type etc.
Once the API is connected, you are authenticated and allowed secure transmission of data between the two applications.
For more information and a detailed overview of our API, please visit our API documentation page.

Sharesight Broker API Connections
If your online broker supports the Sharesight API, you can authorise your broker to automatically record your trading data (i.e. buy and sell trades) into your Sharesight portfolio. Depending on the broker, you can import both historical and ongoing trades or only historical trades, saving you the time taken to manually record trades as the Sharesight API provides a direct electronic connection to the broker.
Note: Access is granted on a per portfolio basis. If you have several online broking accounts, you could connect each one to a separate portfolio or you can have multiple connections to a single portfolio - the choice is yours.
The Sharesight team is open to adding new brokers to the list of existing Sharesight API partners if possible and viable. If you have one in mind, feel free to add your voice to the Sharesight community forum. Please first search if your broker has already been mentioned and add your vote if so. Also, you can check our supported brokers page to see if your broker is already supported.

Monitoring transactions that are recorded into your portfolio via Sharesight API
By default, Sharesight will send you an email each time a trade is recorded in your portfolio via the Sharesight API. This email confirms the details of the trade that has been created and contains a link to view this trade in your Sharesight portfolio.
You will also receive an email containing an appropriate error message if Sharesight has been unable to create a trade that has been sent to your portfolio via Sharesight API. Errors include things like invalid share codes or sell trades that would result in a negative quantity within your portfolio.
Options to enable or disable the email notifications can be found under the Sharesight Connect heading (this heading is only visible when you have established a connection) under the integrations tab.
You also have the option to view the transactions log from Sharesight connected brokers.
Revoking Access
If you no longer wish to provide an organisation access to your portfolio, you may revoke access at any time. To revoke an API connection, go to the ‘ Integrations’ tab > click on ‘Sharesight Connect’ side tab > and click on the ‘revoke’ button as shown below.
