Convert an XLS or XLSX file to CSV format

Below is a step by step guide to convert a XLS or XLSX to CSV format using Google Sheets, which is free and works on any computer, however if you have Microsoft Excel installed, please use this step by step guide. The process is very similar for most spreadsheet programs such as Apple Numbers, etc.
Convert an XLS or XLSX file to CSV format using Google Sheets:
1 – Navigate to sheets.google.com and login to your account or sign up for an account.
2 – Create a new blank spreadsheet.
3 – Click ‘File’.
4 – Click ‘Import…’.
5 – Click ‘Upload’.
6 – Click ‘Select a file from your computer’.
7 – Find and select the file.
8 – Click ‘Open’.
9 – On the ‘Import file’ popup window, select ‘Replace spreadsheet’.
10 – Click ‘Import data’.
11 – Once your file contains the required information, click ‘File’.
12 – Click ‘Download as’ from the dropdown menu.
13 – Click ‘Comma separated values (.csv, current sheet)’. Your file is now ready to upload into Sharesight.
Converting an XLS or XLSX file to CSV format using Microsoft Excel:
1 – Open your trade history file in Microsoft Excel.
2 – Once your file contains the required information, select the ‘File’ tab.
3 – Select ‘Save As’.
4 – Select the ‘Save as type’ dropdown menu.
5 – Select ‘CSV’ from the dropdown menu.
6 – Click ‘Save’. Your file is now ready to upload to Sharesight.
