Use this guide to import your CMC Invest trading history older than 12 months into Sharesight. The CMC Invest Sharesight Connect integration only syncs the past 12 months of trades — use this method to bring in older trade history.

1. Login to your CMC Invest account.

2. Click on the Account > Confirmations tab.

3. Select Open advanced search.

4. Set Start date to Since inception; End date to the day before your oldest imported CMC trade in Sharesight. If you connected a while ago and aren't sure of the exact date, see How to find your oldest CMC trade in Sharesight below.

5. Download trades as a CSV file.

6. In Sharesight, click Add Investment > Upload via brokers, search for CMC and select Upload a file.

How to find your oldest CMC trade in Sharesight

If you're not sure of your exact connection date, you can find the oldest trade the CMC integration has already imported — then use the day before that as your file's end date to avoid duplicates.

1. In Sharesight, go to Tax > All Trades.
2. Set the date range to Since inception.
3. Set Group by to Do not group.
4. Click the Date column to sort from oldest to newest.

The oldest trade shown is where the CMC automatic sync began. The day before that date is the end date you should use when downloading your historical file from CMC.

Example: If the oldest CMC trade in Sharesight is dated 17 Mar 2025, set Start date to Since inception and End date to 16 Mar 2025 in CMC's advanced search. This ensures there's no overlap and no duplicate trades are imported.
