Connect your Interactive Brokers account
This integration is for retail clients only. However Sharesight do support multi-account IB structures such as advisors.
Note: It’s important that the base currency of your IB account matches your Sharesight portfolio’s base currency. If these are different, then any foreign trades will be imported into Sharesight with incorrect exchange rates.
Once you have completed these setup steps, your trading activity will be automatically imported into your selected Sharesight portfolio on a daily basis.
Note: IB only provides your trading activity for the last 7 days to Sharesight from the day the connection is enabled. You’ll need to manually add trades that are older than 7 days into your portfolio.
Note: We only allow for the import of standard BUY and SELL trades via the IB integration. Short selling transactions, including SHORT and COVER trade types are not supported.
How to connect your Interactive Brokers (IB) account to Sharesight:
Note: Please note that you should only send an email to Interactive Brokers if you actually have a trading account with them.
1 - Send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org, include your IB account # and request the Sharesight feed.
2 - You should receive back from Interactive Brokers a user name and in a separate email a password specific to this integration only.
3 - Login to or Sign up for Sharesight.
4 - From any page within Sharesight, click on the ‘Integrations’ tab.
5 - Click on the ‘Interactive Brokers’ link.
6 - Type in the credentials you have been given from Interactive Brokers into the correct fields.
7 - Click on the ‘Create Integration’ button.
Note: Twice per day IB will send through the activity file that includes your days trading. Sharesight will then upload these files that would record the trades. Additionally Sharesight does not support CFDs, Options or Futures that file would contain.
