Duplicate trades in your CMC portfolio

How to identify and resolve duplicate trades in your CMC Invest Sharesight portfolio.
How do duplicates happen?
Duplicates can occur if you import a historical trades file that overlaps with trades already synced by the CMC integration. The integration automatically syncs the last 12 months of trades, so any file import covering that same period may create duplicates.
How to spot duplicate trades
- Go to Tax > All Trades.
- Set the date range to Since inception, set Group by to Do not group, and sort by the Date column from newest to oldest.
- Focus on trades from the past 12–13 months. Look for the same holding with the same quantity on the same date — these are usually duplicates.
- Check the trade source icon on the right side of each row (next to the edit button). A paperclip icon means the trade was imported via CSV file upload. A trade without that icon came in via the CMC integration. If you see two identical trades where one has a paperclip and one doesn't, that's a duplicate.
How to fix duplicate trades
- A few duplicates: Delete them manually by clicking the edit icon and removing the duplicate trade.
- Too many to delete manually: Contact our support team to reverse the file import.
